Personal budgeting, done right

Your money, on track — every pay period.

Import your bank's OFX feed, categorize once, and watch each budget period balance itself. Weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly — on your schedule, not the calendar's.

Everything a spreadsheet did — without the spreadsheet

OnTrack replaces the fragile budget workbook with a real app that understands pay periods, recurring bills, and your bank's data.

OFX bank import

Drop in the OFX/QFX export from your bank (1.x or 2.x, any encoding). Duplicates are skipped automatically, so re-importing is always safe.

Your cadence

Paid weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly? Pick your rhythm and every new period spans exactly the right dates — leap-year and month-length math handled.

Smart categories

Income, expense, and a residual "catch-all" that auto-balances against your revenue. Rename once and every past period updates.

Recurring payments

Rent, subscriptions, loan payments — set them once with three rule types (monthly, bi-weekly, last business day) and they populate every period.

Full history

Every period is preserved — never just the current one. Balances carry forward automatically so your numbers stay continuous over time.

English & French

Fully bilingual, switchable per account regardless of your device language. Numbers and dates format for your locale.

See where you stand at a glance

Current and upcoming periods sit up top; past periods tuck neatly below. The period you're in right now is marked so you never lose your place.

  • Carry-over flows from one period's ending balance into the next.
  • Accounting-style formatting: clean zeros, parenthesized negatives.
  • Works beautifully on your phone.

Private by design

Your finances are nobody else's business — including ours. OnTrack is built so your data stays yours.

Encrypted at rest

Your name, email, and every transaction description are encrypted with AES-256 in the database. A stolen file reveals numbers, never who they belong to.

No passwords

Sign in with Google. OnTrack never sees or stores a password, and there's no password database to breach.

Yours alone

Every account is fully isolated. No shared views, no analytics selling, no bank credentials stored — you upload only the OFX files you choose.

Questions, answered

What does it cost?

OnTrack Budget is a personal project shared with family and friends. Sign in with Google and start budgeting — no card, no trial timer.

Which banks are supported?

Any bank that lets you export OFX or QFX files — which is nearly all Canadian banks (RBC, TD, BMO, Desjardins, and more). Look for "Export" or "Download transactions" in your online banking.

Do you connect to my bank account?

No. There's no Plaid, no stored bank credentials. You download an OFX file from your bank and upload it — OnTrack only ever sees what you hand it.

Can I switch between English and French?

Yes, per account, any time — in Settings → General. Your choice sticks regardless of your device's language.

What happens to my data if I stop using it?

It stays encrypted and isolated to your account. Deleting your account removes all of your periods, categories, and transactions cleanly.
